Officers responded to the Glenwood Maintenance Office at 9:16 a.m. after a woman discovered a 2-year-old Bichon Frise inside a dumpster. Surveillance showed the man, who was not identified by police, putting the dog in the dumpster at 10 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, law enforcement said.
Police were able to distribute the surveillance videos to the public and get the identity of the suspect, officers said. The suspect was charged with animal neglect and animal abandonment, police said.
The dog was seen by a veterinarian and was deemed to be in good health, police said. The dog is being cared for at the Old Bridge Animal Shelter, police said. Inquiries about adoption will occur at a later date, police said.
